About the SV-19 Hudhud VTOL Surveillance Drone
The SV-19 Hudhud is a VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) surveillance drone designed by SkyVortex Tech in Lahore, Pakistan. Four lift motors take it straight up from a small clearing, then a rear pusher motor flies it like an airplane, so it combines the easy launch of a multirotor with the efficiency of a fixed-wing.
With a 1.86 m wingspan and a dedicated front payload bay, it carries a gimbal camera of up to 1.4 kg for day or thermal (EO/IR) surveillance. It cruises at 19–20 m/s and is designed for about 40 minutes of flight on a 6S Li-ion battery.
The plug-in wings, carbon spars and tool-less hatches make it quick to assemble in the field and easy to transport. Hudhud is named after the hoopoe, the legendary messenger bird.
